The Indianapolis Colts have maintained one of the most consistent, untouched aesthetics in NFL history. Since the franchise entered the league in 1953, the classic blue horseshoe, white helmet, and simple double stripe have been worn by generation after generation of players—from Johnny Unitas and Peyton Manning to Andrew Luck.

But a major shift is coming to Indianapolis.

The Big Reveal

On Tuesday, August 25, the Colts will officially unveil a brand-new alternate look as part of the NFL and Nike’s "Rivalries Uniform" program.

Fans won't have to wait long to see the new gear on the field. The team will debut the jerseys during their Week 3 home matchup against the Houston Texans at Lucas Oil Stadium.

The "Rivalries" Expansion

The Colts are not the only team getting a wardrobe upgrade. The Nike Rivalries program, which launched last season with the AFC East and NFC West, is expanding. For the 2026 season, all eight teams in the AFC South and NFC North divisions will debut unique Rivalry designs.

Indianapolis will also face these new looks on the road. The Jacksonville Jaguars (Week 8) and Houston Texans (Week 11) are both scheduled to wear their respective Rivalries uniforms when hosting the Colts later this season.

Balancing Tradition and Modern Design

For a franchise that rarely touches its primary kit, this marks a notable shift toward modern merchandising. While the classic blue-and-whites remain the core identity, the Colts are increasingly embracing alternate styles.

In 2026, the team will rotate through three distinct uniform identities:

  • The Classic Primary: The historic look worn since 1953.
  • The Rivalries Uniform: Debuting in Week 3 against Houston.
  • Indiana Nights: The popular heather-blue jersey and black helmet alternate, which will return in Week 16 against the Cincinnati Bengals.

What Else is New at Lucas Oil?

Beyond the jerseys, the Colts are rolling out several fan-focused updates for the 2026 season:

  • Exclusive Women’s Apparel: A new partnership with local brand Gold Hinge introduces a five-piece fashion collection designed specifically for female fans.
  • Stadium Upgrades: An extended retail partnership with Fanatics will revamp the stadium's shopping experience, while longtime hospitality partner Sodexo Live! is introducing new menu items and commemorative souvenir vessels.
  • Key Theme Games: The 2026 home schedule will feature a tribute to Colts legend Adam Vinatieri, the "Kicking the Stigma" mental health initiative, and the annual Salute to Service game.
