Previously, Landry found herself caught in a house divided, cheering for her boyfriend on the Tigers while her father coached the Rebels. Now that Lane is at the helm in Baton Rouge, that awkward conflict of interest is completely gone.

Before giving his blessing, Lane treated the situation like an NFL draft evaluation. He admitted to turning to former LSU head coach Brian Kelly and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart to run a complete character check on Weeks.
“I gotta do some research, you know?” Lane explained to SEC Now. He noted that Kelly told him, "If there was ever a player that I’d want to date my daughter, that’s who it is."
Lane also reached out to Kirby Smart because Weeks' father and Smart played together at Georgia. After receiving glowing reviews across the board, the coach realized he had nothing to worry about.
Maintaining Professional Boundaries
Despite the unique dynamic of having his girlfriend's dad as his head coach, Whit Weeks insists that football remains strictly business.
“It hasn’t affected my relationship with him at all,” Weeks told Yahoo Sports. “When you’re in that building, you’re there for work... Whenever we leave, it’s cool because he’s my girlfriend’s dad. It is what it is when we’re outside the building hanging out and cutting up.”
Meanwhile, Landry has kept busy away from the football stadium, recently launching her own clothing line titled “Fifth Year.” With the family now aligned under the LSU banner, the unique pairing appears to be working out smoothly both on and off the field.
